The best Chinese smoked black tea. During the Qing dynasty, soldiers passing through the Wuyi Mountains in China needed to use a tea factory as shelter. Their unexpected arrival delayed the tea-drying process, and to save the harvest, the farmers decided to speed things up by drying the leaves over pinewood fires. The tea absorbed the smoky aroma—and surprisingly, it became popular!
